THOUSANDS OF LUMINOUS LIGHTS SET THE STAGE FOR MONTHLONG HOLIDAY CELEBRATION AT UNION STATION

Union Station all decked out for the holidays
Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) November 20,2019 – This holiday season Union Station’s historic South Patio will be transformed into a hub of holiday entertainment with a luminous Holiday Light Display, a Tree Lighting Ceremony, a series of eclectic Cocoa Concerts, and a Holiday Festival and Artisan Market featuring distinctive and diverse performers, artists and artisans from across Los Angeles.
The ceremony will be accompanied by a performance from the award-winning Grand Arts Chamber Singers, an elite group of student performers that hail from neighboring Ramon C. Cortines School of Visual and Performing Arts in downtown Los Angeles; The Beverly Belles, an acapella celebration of the season; and the Toy Soldiers Drumline who will harness the awesome power and speed of their sticks to bring rhythm to the festive evening. The tree will be lit at approximately 7:15 p.m.

The Union Station Holiday Festival, a pop-up artisan market, rolls into the station’s South Patio on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. with more than 40 of L.A.’s most sought-after artists and artisans; live entertainment; a Beer Garden; food truck favorites; and fun, free activities for kids.

The Cocoa Concert series continues most Fridays in December, featuring:
  • Latin beats from the Conganas on Friday, Dec. 6, 6:30 p.m.
  • The swinging sounds of the Hi-Fi Honeydrops on Friday, Dec. 13, 6:30 p.m.
  • Stay tuned for special guests to be announced for Friday, Dec. 20, 6:30 p.m.
Each festive, family-friendly holiday celebration is a winter wonderland featuring “Cocoa Bars” with Elftenders, Santa selfies and our very own Candy Cane Lane where a custom neon photo-op will make your season bright alongside a soaring Candy Cane Queen and holiday-themed arts, crafts and interactive games and entertainment.
Don’t miss the marshmallow eating contest where winners will celebrate their sweet victory with prizes and sticky fingers.
