THE “WELCOME TO ACAPULCO” FILM HOSTED ITS OFFICIAL PRESS JUNKET IN ACAPULCO ON OCTOBER 13

This past Thursday, October 13th, the “Welcome to Acapulco” film hosted its official press junket in Acapulco, Mexico. The event was attended by the popular cast & crew including Michael Madsen, Mike Kingsbaker, Paul Sorvino, William Baldwin, Ana Serradilla and Ana Layevska along with Guerrero tourism officials.

Acapulco, Guerrero – October 17th, 2016 – The official press junket for the new film “Welcome to Acapulco” was held in Acapulco this past Thursday, October 13th. The film’s series of popular American and international artists including Michael Madsen, Mike Kingsbaker, Paul Sorvino, William Baldwin, Ana Serradilla and Ana Layevska were all in attendance. Producers Loris Curci and and Magi Halvadjin, director Guillermo Ivan and Guerrero and Acapulco municipality tourism officials were also present during the junket.

The Secretary of Tourism of the State of Guerrero, Ernesto Rodriguez Escalona, welcomed the stellar cast and the entire production of this film. “Welcome to Acapulco” will feature several top landmarks in Acapulco including La Quebrada, Sinfonia del Mar, La Isla de la Roqueta and beautiful beaches among other sites.

“The idea of this film is to evoke the glamour of Acapulco within film, highlight what Acapulco has to offer, like it’s natural beauty and attractive locations,” says Guillermo Iván, the film’s director and actor. “I want to specially acknowledge all the locals who have joined this project as well as thanking them for their patience and collaboration as the general response for this film has been incredibly positive.”

Rodriguez, on behalf of Governor Héctor Astudillo, thanked the producers of this film for selecting Acapulco to carry out this project, as it represents a great opportunity to promote the destination and attract the international spotlight again.

“Welcome to Acapulco” is an action film co-produced with Mexico, the United States and Bulgaria. Therefore, the event also welcomed Loris Curci and Magi Halvadjin, representatives of the Bulgarian company Open Frames, one of the most important producers in Europe.

Since Governor Héctor Astudillo’s administration, various film and television projects have been promoted in Acapulco, this one being the 45th. Next year there are more productions scheduled which will soon be announced.
