Pasadena, CA, (The Hollywood Times) 12/30/2019–What began as a small effort by the Valley Hunt Club to promote Pasadena’s charm and beautiful weather, the Tournament of Roses now is known around-the-world as America’s New Year Celebration®.
As the New Year quickly approaches and a new decade embarks upon us, we welcomed winter on the 21st of December. It brought cool weather and much needed rain to the west coast. There’s no snow on the ground here at the lower levels of the city of Los Angeles but there’s still plenty to get excited about during this time of the year.
For 131 years the Rose Parade®, in Pasadena, CA, has been a one of a kind crowd pleaser. Every year on the the 1st of January, the city is filled with football fans and parade goers from all over the world. Each fan looks forward to and anticipates a sense tingling experience. The Rose Bowl football game and the Rose Parade® are huge draws to the city of Pasadena. The Tournament of Roses continues their tradition of providing the public with the opportunity to view many of the floats prior to Parade day as they are decorated.
Wednesday, January 1, 2020 the Tournament of Roses will showcase 39 float entries in the 131st Rose Parade® presented by Honda. This year’s theme, “The Power of Hope,” celebrates the influence of hope. With hope anything, in fact everything, is possible.

Float Viewing and Volunteers
As majestic and eye catching as the floats are, they must be decorated and adorned with flowers prior to parade day which requires float builders, hundreds of volunteers, multiple hours of work, flowers and roses, of course. This is all done to bring each unique design concept to life for spectators to view on New Year’s day.
Whether you attend the Rose Parade or not, viewing the decorating process is a great way to get a first hand look at the floats and to see how they are prepared before their debut in the 2020 Rose Parade. This experience is a chance for you to view and take pictures of the floats, buy Rose Parade merchandise, and generate/build memories that will last a life time.
