Donny and Marie Osmond To Be Honored By The Las Vegas Walk Of Stars
Once upon a time, that wholesome duo, Donny and Marie Osmond, were hosting their own primetime variety hour on ABC. “Donny and Marie” anchored the network on Friday evenings from 1976 to 1979 (until being rebranded as “The Osmond Family Show” on Sunday). It featured comedy and songs, all squeaky clean, with an array of stars, past and then present, that included everyone’s favorite redhead, Lucille Ball, the cast of sitcom “What’s Happening!!,” and, to my delight, a handful of Bradys (as in “The “Brady Bunch”).
It was “Donny and Marie” where the idea of the first “Brady Bunch” spin-off, the truly abysmal (and oddly addictive) “The Brady Bunch Hour” came from.
Admit it…you watched, and enjoyed “Donny and Marie.” I know I did. And Friday nights have never been the same without them. Nor will Las Vegas once their perennially sold-out show concludes at the end of this year. For more, click here
