Ratings Breakdown:
Note: CBS’ primetime line-up began at 7:07 p.m. ET due to a sports overrun. All overnight program estimates for the network are, therefore, estimated.

Led by an encore telecast of granddaddy “60 Minutes,” CBS topped the Sunday household overnights. But an estimated 3.0/ 6 in households for Football on Fox, the Seattle Seahawks at the Minnesota Vikings, should be enough for the network to lead the evening in adults 18-49.

Elsewhere, ABC’s 8-11 p.m. game show block – “Celebrity Family Feud” (#2: 3.4/ 6), “The 100,000 Pyramid” (#3: 3.0/ 5) and “To Tell the Truth” (#3: 2.4/ 5) – was at typical Sunday overnight levels. For the remainder of the overnight analysis plus the half-hour breakdown for Sunday, August 18, click here

NEW PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS

Netflix Orders Elvis Presley Animated Series “Agent King”
Netflix has greenlit “Agent King,” an adult animated comedy series about legendary Elvis Presley, from Priscilla Presley, John Eddie, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures Television and Authentic Brands Group. The announcement comes on the 42nd anniversary of Elvis’ death.

Co-created by Presley and Eddie, in the series, Elvis trades in his white jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to help battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves — all while holding down his day job as the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Authentic Brands Group, Sony Pictures Animation, and Sony Pictures Television are all partners on the show. Presley and Eddie will executive produce with Authentic Brands Group’s Jamie Salter. Mike Arnold (Archer) will serve as showrunner, writer and executive producer. Fletcher Moules will serve as supervising director and co-executive producer. Marc Rosen and Corey Salter also will co-executive produce. Designer John Varvatos will custom design Elvis’ entire wardrobe for the series and will serve as a consulting producer on the series, along with Jerry Schilling.

SERIES RENEWALS AND CANCELLATIONS

CBS Cancels Drama “Instinct”
CBS has opted against a third season of drama “Instinct.” Debuting on March 18, 2018, the series featured Alan Cumming as university professor, and former CIA paramilitary officer Dr. Dylan Reinhart who is lured back to his old life by New York Police detective Elizabeth Needham (Bojana Novalovic) when she needs his help to stop a serial killer who is using Reinhart’s book as inspiration for murders.

“Instinct” was one of four CBS dramas whose futures were placed in limbo when the network postponed their renewal decisions back in May. The other three — “The Code,” “The Red Line” and “Ransom” — will also not be returning. The now series finale of “Instinct” will air in a two-episode block on August 25.

TV AND DIGITAL UPDATES

Donny and Marie Osmond To Be Honored By The Las Vegas Walk Of Stars
Once upon a time, that wholesome duo, Donny and Marie Osmond, were hosting their own primetime variety hour on ABC. “Donny and Marie” anchored the network on Friday evenings from 1976 to 1979 (until being rebranded as “The Osmond Family Show” on Sunday). It featured comedy and songs, all squeaky clean, with an array of stars, past and then present, that included everyone’s favorite redhead, Lucille Ball, the cast of sitcom “What’s Happening!!,” and, to my delight, a handful of Bradys (as in “The “Brady Bunch”).

It was “Donny and Marie” where the idea of the first “Brady Bunch” spin-off, the truly abysmal (and oddly addictive) “The Brady Bunch Hour” came from.

Admit it…you watched, and enjoyed “Donny and Marie.” I know I did. And Friday nights have never been the same without them. Nor will Las Vegas once their perennially sold-out show concludes at the end of this year. For more, click here

Season 4 of gangster drama “Peaky Blinders” will be available for streaming on Netflix on Friday, October 4th. The series follows the evolution of leader Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) from backstreet crime lord to legitimate businessman and member of parliament. It explores the notions that violence destroys lives, empires rise and fall over time, and class divisions are corrosive.

The sixth — and final — season of HBO drama “Silicon Valley” will open on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 10 p.m. ET. A collaboration between Mike Judge and Alec Berg, the series takes a comedic look at the modern-day epicenter of the high-tech gold rush, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. It stars Middleditch as Richard, Zach Woods as Jared, Kumail Nanjiani as Dinesh, Martin Starr as Gilfoyle, Amanda Crew as Monica, Jimmy O. Yang as Jian-Yang, Suzanne Cryer as Laurie Bream, Matt Ross as Gavin Belson and Josh Brener as Big Head.
