After a brief five-year respite, the evil alter ego of Dr. Cole returns with a vengeance

Pasadena, CA (The Hollywood Times) 1/31/13 – Tonight is the premiere of the latest modern day Jeckyll and Hyde series “Do No Harm” on NBC. Will it go the same way as “My Own Worst Enemy”or “Awake”? Executive producer and creator David Schulner is hoping not. “I took lessons from those shows and I said this is gonna be this show you’re gonna want to watch every single week. You can’t wait to tune in because it’s so crazy. The stuff that Ian does to Jason and Jason will do to Ian, it’s a wild roller coaster ride, he explained to THT and other reporters at the TCA press tour. “We want you to get on the ride and stay on the ride, and once you’re on, sit back and strap in.” It seems that after a brief five-year respite, the evil alter ego of Dr. Cole returns with a vengeance. Steven Pasquale plays the brilliant neurosurgeon Jason Cole and his nefarious alter ego Ian Price. The cast is rounded out with Alana De La Garza, Phylicia Rashad, Michael Esper, Ruta Gedmintas, Jon Carroll Lynch, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Samm Levine. Miranda said what most attracted him to this project was when “I read the pilot was I haven’t seen anything like this on television, and the premise allows us to go to such edgy and dark places, and then it also has huge comedic possibilities as well.” Rashad explained what she finds most interesting about her character is being on the “observation end of this phenomenon, the one who really doesn’t know exactly what the problem is, who turns a blind eye to activities as much as she can, but then there’s certain things that cannot be overlooked and have to be dealt with.” By the way, it was pretty exciting to get to work the first day and see Ms. Huxtable.” Pasqual said.
